Abstract

The Ce3+-doped Y3Al5O12(YAG: Ce3+) phosphors were synthesized by the molten salt synthesis (MSS) method using Y2O3, Al2O3, CeO2 as the starting materials. NaF–KCl, NaCl–KCl and NaCl–KCl–NaF were adopted as the molten salts and the orthogonal experiments were applied to seek out the optimal experimental conditions. By analysis of the luminescence properties and the morphology of the samples, it was found that using NaCl–KCl–NaF as the molten salt can synthesize the YAG: Ce3+ phosphor with better luminescence performance, regular morphology and better dispersion.
