Abstract

The coprecipitates Ag 2Zn 1− x Ni x (OX) 2·2H 2O ( x=0.3, 0.5, 0.7, and ox=oxalate anion) and Ag 2Zn 0.5Co 0.5(OX) 2·2H 2O have been prepared and characterized by means of infrared spectroscopy (IR), elemental analysis, X-ray powder diffractometry (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and thermal analyses (DTA/TG). The results indicate, that the coprecipitates are solid solutions. The thermal decomposition of the compounds in both dynamic and static air has been studied. The study also showed that the water of crystallization practice different interactions in the lattice of the solid solutions. The thermal decomposition products of the coprecipitates in static air were investigated by IR, XRD and SEM. The electrical conductivity of the final mixed oxides in static air was also measured.
