Abstract
Abstract “PbVS3”, a new ternary layered compound, has been obtained. The structure is composed of two kinds of layers of pseudo-tetragonal PbS and pseudo-orthohexagonal VS2. They are alternately stacked together forming composite crystal of LaCrS3 type. All of the powder X-ray diffraction peaks are well indexed on the basis of only a monoclinic PbS subcell.
