Abstract

This research involved the preparation of new Azo/Azo-Chalcone ligands which act as bidentate (N, N) type nitrogen of Azo group and a nitrogen of imidazole derivative. The first one was 2-((4-chloro2methylphenyl)diazenyl)-4, 5-dipenyl-1H-imidazole(L1), while the second was 3-(4-bromophenyl)-1-(3-(E)-(4, 5-diphenyl-1H-imidazol-2-yl) diazenyl) phenyl)prop-2-en-1-one (L2). Both were formed a mixed ligand complexes with (Co, Ni, Cu, Zn, Cd, Hg and Pd) (II) in mole ratio of (1: 1: 1). Both ligands and its mixed complexes were characterized by various spectroscopic techniques such (UV-Visible, IR, NMR, Mass, CHN) and electrical molar conductivity. Indeed to the magnetic susceptibility will by studied to endorse the suggestion of complex geometries. The cytotoxicity of Pd (II) complex on human prostatic cancer (PC3) and normal cells WRL-68 were studied, which appears the significant effect of this complex on the obstruction virulent growth of cell line, which demonstrates the vital role of this complex as a prostate cancer inhibitor in the scope of medicine.
