Abstract

Cu-Ni, Cu-Co, Cu-Fe and Pd-Ni magnetic superlattices were prepared using a d.c. sputtering system. The quality of the samples was confirmed by the intense satellite peaks in the θ−2θ X-ray diffraction patterns. Magnetization measurements confirmed the rectangular profile of composition for Cu-Co, Cu-Fe and Pd-Ni superlattices. X-ray diffraction patterns and the change of magnetic moment of implanted superlattices were used to study the ion beam mixing effects.
