Abstract

AbstractA series of hyperbranched polyacrylate copolymers have been synthesized by self‐condensing vinyl copolymerization (SCVCP) of 2‐(2‐bromopropionyloxy)‐ethyl acrylate (BPEA) and methyl acrylate (MA) in the presence of CuBr and bipyridine. The structures and properties of the polymers obtained are characterized by NMR and SEC/RALLS/DV/RI measurements. The effects of reaction conditions on molecular weight (MW), molecular weight distribution (MWD) and degree of branching (DB) are investigated.© 2002 Society of Chemical Industry
