Abstract

In this paper, Mn3[Zr(H2O)CoW9Mo2O39]·21H2O, a polyatomic heteropoly compound containing cobalt, manganese, zirconium, molybdenum and tungsten, has been prepared by the stepwise acidification, stepwise addition of solutions of the component elements, and ion exchange as well as double decomposition methods. The effects of optimal temperature, reaction time, pH and proportion of different component elements have been investigated. The product is characterized by elementary analysis (ICP), IR, UV, XRD and TG. The experimental data (IR, UV and XRD) indicated that Mn3[Zr(H2O)CoW9Mo2O39]·21H2O possesses the Keggin structure.
