Abstract

Bio-based composite materials have sparked industrial and scientific attention in recent years because of their improved properties due to micro and nano-size reinforcement in the different polymer resins. Therefore, in this work, we tried to study the effect of graphene oxide (GO) and pineapple leaf fiber (PALF) reinforcement on rice starch bio-composite. Three different composites were prepared: Type A- Rice starch film, Type B- GO reinforced rice starch film, Type C- Alkaline treated PALF and GO reinforced rice starch film. Type C film showed enhanced thermal and thermo-mechanical properties compared to the other two types of films.
