Abstract
Co-alloy single-crystal thin films were prepared on SrTiO 3(1 1 1), LaAlO 3(0 0 0 1), and Al 2O 3(0 0 0 1) substrates. The film structure was studied using X-ray diffraction and high-resolution transmission electron microscopy. It is shown that epitaxial growth of a CoCrPt magnetic layer strongly depends on the substrate and underlayer materials.
