Abstract

Butanediol di-stearate, a novel solid–liquid phase change material, was prepared via the reaction of thionylchlorided stearic acid with 1, 4-butanediol. And then it was characterized by FT-IR, 1H NMR spectra and DSC measurements. The DSC results indicate that the phase change onset temperature and phase change enthalpy of butanediol di-stearate were at 41.80 °C and 181.97 kJ/kg, respectively.
