Abstract
β- d-Fructofuranosyl O-(α- d-galactopyranosyl uronic acid)-(1→6)- O-α- d-glucopyranoside ( 3) was prepared by treating raffinose with d-galactose oxidase, followed by hypoiodite oxidation of the resulting aldhyde. Mild acid hydrolysis of 3 gave O-(α- d-galactopyranosyl uronic acid)-(1→6)- d-glucose.
