Abstract

A series of siloxane modified waterborne polyurethanes (SWPUs) were synthesized using poly (tetramethylene oxide glycol) (PTMG, 2000 g/mol), hydroxy-terminated poly(dimethylsiloxane) (PDMS, 110,000 g/mol), isophorone diisocyanate (IPDI), 2,2-bis-(hydroxymethyl) propionic acid (DMPA), triethylamine (TEA) and ethylenediamine (EDA). The structure of the prepared SWPU films were examined and confirmed by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR). The effects of PDMS content on the thermal properties of siloxane modified waterborne polyurethane (SWPUs) were investigated.
