Abstract

Peripheral arteriovenous malformations (AVMs) are uncommon compared with more common intracranial AVMs, with chest wall AVMs being further uncommon. There are multiple treatment options which include observation, endovascular embolisation, surgical resection or combination. Giant AVMs usually have multiple feeders and are difficult to treat completely by surgery or embolisation alone. Therefore, preoperative embolisation is done to achieve bloodless surgical field and decrease blood loss during surgery. We present a hybrid approach to treat giant chest wall AVM where both Interventional Radiology and Surgical teams worked in tandem and achieved complete cure.
