Abstract

To evaluate the impact value of preoperative neutrophil-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) for the prognosis of pancreatic cancer patients. The clinical data of 65 patients with resectable pancreatic cancer were analyzed retrospectively. According to preoperative NLR, the patients were divided into high group (NLR ≥ 2.4) and low group (NLR < 2.4). Caner-specific survival was assessed using the Kaplan-Meier method. The 1-year survival rates and the clinic pathological factors in the two groups were analyzed using univariate analysis and COX regression model. The 1-year survival rate of higher NLR group and lower NLR group was 64.5% and 73.5% respectively, with statistic significance. A high NLR was identified as an independent risk factor of poorer prognosis for patients with pancreatic cancer (RR: 1.465; 95% CI: 1.078-1.993; P = 0.015). Preoperative NLR can be a clinically significant factor for the assessment of prognosis of Pancreatic Cancer.
