Abstract

Introduction: Preoperative chronic kidney disease (CKD), defined as low estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR), is associated with increased risk for postoperative complications and acute kidney injury (AKI). AKI is associated with increased morbidity and mortality after general surgery. The importance of preoperative CKD after pancreatoduodenectomy is however unknown.
