Abstract
Objectives: Although preoperative left atrial size and duration of atrial fibrillation (AF) have been associated with ablation results, these factors are not sufficient to predict the outcome in long standing persistent AF (LsPeAF). The aim of this study was to investigate whether preoperative plasma Atrial Natriuretic Peptide (ANP) may reflect atrial fibrosis and has predictive value for outcome after epicardial ablation.
