Abstract

To explore the effect of preoperative nursing assessment and intervention to elderly patients with osteoporotic compression fractures of spine treated by percutaneous kyphoplasty.Using percutaneous kyphoplasty to treat 49 elderly patients, age 70-89 years (average 75.5), The patients received preoperative nursing assessment and intervention.Pains were effectively relieved to the all patients, no complication occurred due to improper care.Percutameous kyphoplaty was effective method to treat elderly patients with osteoporotic compression fractures of spine, preoperative nursing assessment and intervention was important part of successful surgery.
