Abstract
Organoaluminum (aluminum phenolate and aluminum isopropylate) and acidic heterogeneous catalysts (zeolites C-10, C-100 and ZSM, clay KSF, sulfonic cation exchangers Fiban K-1 and Amberlist 36 Dry) were studied in the alkylation of 4-methylphenol with prenol. Effective catalysts and conditions for the synthesis of 4-methyl-2-prenylphenol, 2,6-diprenyl-4-methylphenol, and chromane were revealed.
