Abstract

Traceability in the veterinary public health supply chain is essential to increase the value and confidence of meat products consumer. There are challenges in developing a traceability system, which includes what kind of information recorded and presented in the system, system design and architecture to ensure scalability and robustness, and maintaining information integrity. Based on previous research, the role of a user study in traceability system development is essential to ensure the usability of the system. In this research, we conduct a user study to capture the characteristics and perception of livestock consumer in Bogor region. Based on the survey results, we synthesize five design implications that revolve around these matters: traceability system implementation, traceability information conformity, system use for users’ easiness, trust increase to the system, and the advantage of blockchain to traceability system. These design implications can benefit traceability system development, primarily concerning veterinary public health, in Indonesia.
