Abstract

The dual-cooled lithium lead (DLL) blanket is one of blanket concepts designed for the fusion power reactor FDS-II, where the reduced activation ferritic/martensitic (RAFM) steel is adopted as structural material cooled by He gas flow, and self-cooled liquid metal LiPb serves as both breeder and coolant. Magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) pressure drop, thermal-hydraulic and stress analyses and numerical simulation are carried out for pressure, temperature and stress considerations. Preliminary thermal-hydraulics design of the DLL breeder blanket is presented based on calculations of thermal-hydraulics and thermo-mechanics.
