Abstract
With the increasingly obvious trend of population aging, “how to provide for the elderly” has become a major problem faced by the government and the whole society. As one of the elderly care institutions in China, the community day care center for the elderly has received constant attention in recent years. By analyzing the psychological and physiological needs of the elderly in the indoor public activity space, this paper clarifies the basic design principles of the public activity space in the day care center and summarizes the public activity space strategies of the elderly in the day care center to create a safe and appropriate public activity space for the elderly.
