Abstract

A new process of enhanced dissolved air floatation (DAF) by pulsed high voltage discharge was studied in this paper. With high voltage discharges, removal rate of some normal water quality indexes were better improved, such as UV254 and COD Mn from 0.145 to 0.142 and from 6.2 mg/L to 5.8 mg/L. The turbidity of water after treated with pulsed high voltage discharges was larger than that without discharges. The experiment also investigated the organics removal via GC/MS analysis with the result that removal rates of different kinds of organics changed with discharges. Removal of some organics could be enhanced by discharges.
