Abstract

A space–time finite-element (FE) method is developed for the eddy-current analysis that enables temporally variant spatial FEs arising in the analysis of moving conductors. We discuss the relation between the coordinate transformations and the space–time FE in treating the moving conductors. The space–time triangular-prism and parallelepiped FEs are found to successfully represent the eddy-current field with a moving conductor in the space–time.
