Abstract
The downy mildew (Pseudoperonospora cubensis) caused significant damage to cucumber in Thailand. The systematic characterization of the pathogen has not yet been intensively studied in the country. The cucumber downy mildew collected from various locations in the northern region of Thailand were studied based on morphology, host specificity, and molecular phylogenetic analysis of the ITS sequences. The morphology of downy mildew isolates was similar to the Palti and Korea isolates. Three different pathotypes were identified. Analysis of the ITS sequences revealed no intraspecific variability in the candidate sequences.
