Abstract

1. The warm bath method serves to force the development of adventive shoots and roots in stem cuttings.2. The regeneration of shoots (in some cases shoots and roots) in stem cuttings of Populus nigra is much accelerated by introduction of intramolecular respiration.3. Introduction of intramolecular respiration by means of treatment with H2-gas or placing in vacuum, vigrous callus formation in treated cuttings of Populus nigra causes4. The products of intramolecular respiration increase in the stem cutting of Populus nigra.
