K. Aly. M. K. Abstract The Egyptian mission for the total solar eclipse of February 25,1952, at Khartoum undertook this present work at the suggestion of the late Bernard Lyot of Meudon, and carried it out jointly with M. K. Aly of Helwan. For this purpose, two spectrographs were designed for observing the coronal emission lines close to the sun's limb over the whole range of the spectrum from X 6900 to X 3100. A short account of the program is followed by a description of the plates obtained, and the wave4ength measurements of all the coronal lines seen on the plates In addition to most of the previously discovered emission lines observed at earlier eclipses, some thirteen new lines were observed at this elcipse Publication: The Astrophysical Journal Pub Date: November 1955 DOI: 10.1086/146105 Bibcode: 1955ApJ...122..438L full text sources ADS |
