Abstract

Furanace appears to be of excellent potential for the chemotherapeutic control of most potential and possible prawn diseases. It shows antimicrobial activity over a wide range of bacterial and fungal pathogens of fish and crustacea. It is non-toxic at treatment levels to macrobrachium rosenbergii, the prawns rapidly absorb the drug, tissues achieve effective drug levels, and the compound is rapidly excreted after treatment.
