Abstract

In this paper a preliminary design study of a novel guidance system to be applied on IAV path control is presented. The fundamentals of this work are based in two optional sensorial system implementations: (a) A orientation detection system which detects the left-right orientation of the sensor base with respect to the path, based in photovoltaic geometrical surfaces, (b) A deviation angle sensor system capable for measuring the deviation angle of an IAV from its reference path by means of a photovoltaic servo-sensor which find the angular direction of a reflected beam from a source light in one degree of freedom. The path to be followed consist optionally in a light band or in a narrow band of reflectant material on the ceiling and/or at the opposite surface, that is the floor.
