Abstract
Chinese Fusion Engineering Test Reactor (CFETR) is an ITER-like fusion device that was proposed to achieve 50–200 MW fusion power, 30–50 % duty time factor, and tritium self-sufficiency. As a candidate blanket concept for CFETR, a helium cooled solid breeder blanket was designed following the specific requirements. The design of a helium cooling system (HCS) was conducted. The HCS is an important ancillary system of helium cooled solid breeder blanket for CFETR. The general description of HCS design was presented in this paper. Specifically, the design principles and thermal design requirements were defined, the process flow diagram of the system was given and the main components were introduced. Accordingly, the dimensions of the components were preliminary estimated to provide a space allocation reference for a CFETR blanket system.
