Abstract
Preliminary considerations applying to the necessary instrumentation for the use of sonic nozzles is reviewed. A way to make sonic nozzles for industry, together with a method to determine the discharge coefficient of a convergent nozzle operating in the sonic regime in conditions of ideal flow is suggested. The results obtained for the behaviour of the discharge coefficient of sonic nozzles, in the range from 4×10 4 to 2×10 5 are compared with the standard ISO 9300 (Standard ISO 9300.
