Abstract

AbstractThe Pacific oyster, Crassostrea gigas, was used as a bioindicator organism to investigate the sediment quality of at Dinh Vu port and Dong Bai intertidal in the Bach Dang estuary. The embryos of oyster were exposed to sediment contacts for 24 h to quantify the abnormality percentage of the development of D‐shape oyster larvae. In the sediments collected from April to July 2016, the results showed that the low sediment concentrations (0.5 and 1.0 g.L‐1) had higher development defect for oyster embryos. The development of oyster embryos had no affected because the concentration of ammonium and particulate organic carbon were low in Bach Dang estuary.
