Abstract

Large-scale development of renewable energy such as wind and photovoltaic (PV) power generation has become a universal consensus around the world. Facing the future power system with high proportion of renewable energy, this paper conducts preliminary analysis on configuration scheme of main power sources in China. The power sources considered include wind farm, PV power plant, coal-fired power unit, hydropower unit, demand side management (DSM), electrochemical energy storage system, etc. Firstly, based on the national renewable energy development goal, the main power sources' installed capacity of the future power system is obtained by using the power and electricity balance calculation method. Then, the regulation order of different power sources in the future power system is studied. The research comprehensively considers the technical performance, carbon emission and economic cost of different power sources, and is solved by analytic hierarchy process (AHP) method. Results of this paper can also provide reference for planning and operation of power systems with high penetrated renewable energy in other countries.
