Abstract
This study concerns the analysis of the unsteady flow inside an engine component named wave rotor. A numerical model has been developed by the authors for this purpose, using modern and efficient state of the art calculation methods and modelling. Then this model is validated by comparison with well established available analytical results. This allows us to simulate the flow inside a three-port wave rotor used as a pressure divider. Our comparisons with NASA experimental results on the pressure divider show that the model is well-suited for such types of flows. The off-design operation of the pressure divider wave rotor is finally analyzed versus the most important parameters and its operation limits are determined.
