Abstract

Background and Aims: The role of fructose on the global epidemic of obesity and metabolic syndrome is widely recognized. However, its consumption is allowed during pregnancy. We have previously demonstrated in rats that maternal fructose intake induces detrimental effects in fetuses and they are maintained on them when adult. Therefore, we wanted to know if fructose intake affects pregnancy of the progeny of fructose fed mothers.
