Abstract

The ability to diagnose early pregnancy and manage normal and abnormal findings associated with early pregnancy is important and commonly used in the medical care of women of reproductive age. The purpose of this review is to describe the evaluation of early pregnancy, discuss indications for early evaluation of pregnancy location, delineate diagnostic strategies to further evaluate pregnancy of unknown location, and review current treatment strategies for ectopic pregnancies, both tubal and nontubal in location.
