Abstract

AbstractDiabetes and pregnancy is regarded as a secondary care responsibility but, with 5% of pregnancies complicated by pre‐existing or gestational diabetes, an individual practice is likely to see some of these women every year. This article considers the issues surrounding the preconception, antenatal and postnatal care of women with diabetes and gestational diabetes, and considers their management from a primary care perspective.
