Abstract
There is an increasing trend toward morbid obesity in women of childbearing age and a subsequent increase in number of weight reduction surgeries, in these individuals. Thus, pregnancy following weight loss surgery is increasingly encountered in clinical practice. A multidisciplinary team is needed to address these patients as they pose specific surgical, medical, and obstetric challenges. This chapter describes common considerations relating to pregnant bariatric surgical patients.
