  • Pregnancy-associated breast cancer (PABC) is defined as breast cancer diagnosed during pregnancy or in the first year postpartum

  • Diagnosis of breast cancer can be more difficult in this subgroup, due to the changes associated with pregnancy and breastfeeding that can lead to delays of one to two months

  • The diagnosis of PABC is made using the same tools as in non-pregnant women, but it is more difficult to evaluate a tumor while physiological changes occur in the breast during pregnancy and breastfeeding
