Abstract
Pregnancy-associated breast cancer
Highlights
Pregnancy-associated breast cancer (PABC) is defined as breast cancer diagnosed during pregnancy or in the first year postpartum
Diagnosis of breast cancer can be more difficult in this subgroup, due to the changes associated with pregnancy and breastfeeding that can lead to delays of one to two months
The diagnosis of PABC is made using the same tools as in non-pregnant women, but it is more difficult to evaluate a tumor while physiological changes occur in the breast during pregnancy and breastfeeding
