Abstract

Preform design is an important aspect in consideration of the improvement of quality and reduction of cost in warm forging process. Bevel gear being a key component of drive mechanisms in automotive industry requires lot of attention to its complex shape design optimization. A multi-objective optimization problem in designing preforms of warm forging for bevel gear by using genetic algorithm is solved and presented in this paper. The main objective of this study is to design an optimal preform part, which can get a better quality and the reliable preform shape systematically and theoretically.
