Abstract

THE 8TH INTERNATIONAL SEMINAR ON OCEAN AND COASTAL ENGINEERING, ENVIRONMENTAL AND NATURAL DISASTER MANAGEMENT“Integrated Approach for Sustainable Science and Technology on Offshore, Ocean and Coastal Engineering”Webinar/Virtual-SeminarDate : 27th - 28th October 2020Welcome to The 8th International Seminar on Ocean and Coastal Engineering, Environmental and Natural Disaster Management (ISOCEEN) 2020 was planned in Surabaya, Indonesia, on 27 – 28th October 2020, with the theme taken is “Integrated Approach for Sustainable Science and Technology on Offshore, Ocean and Coastal Engineering”. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic with taking into account the various circumstances, uncertainties and restrictions on travel and social distancing regulation, while, this seminar must be conducted on that predetermined date based on funding from the institutions for the 2020 fiscal year and also the participants requested for virtual/webinar seminar since there was no sign of the COVID-19 pandemic will sttle soon. Moreover, with considering the current technology in communication platforms is avalaiable worldwide for virtual meetings and presentations, then, we decided to hold webinar/virtual seminar on 27th – 28th October 2020 hosted using the Zoom Meeting and Youtube Broadcast at Department of Ocean Engineering, Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology (ITS) Surabaya-Indonesia.This virtual seminar was also supported by Indonesian Coastal Management Expert Association (HAPPI) and Indonesian Coastal Engineering Expert Association (PARPI). During the Plenary sharing Session with 4 keynote Speakers, 3 invited speakers, 54 regular talks contributions from over 250 participants (viewers) from 11 countries (Indonesia, Japan, Netherlands, Oman, Qatar, Germany, Portugal, Spain, Ireland, Vietnam, Malaysia and Korea) were disseminated from the zoom meeting and Youtube Broadcast. During the parallel session was allocated about 15 minutes for each presenter in which 10 minutes for the paper presentation and 5 minutes for Q & A session. The detail schedule of seminar and the guideline of presentation involved the zoom meeting and Youtube Broadcast link were informed to all participants via email and Whatshapps by the organizing committee.The Organizing Committee acknowledged for their dedicated preparation over many years that led to successful seminar with broad participant. This event is held by cooperation among Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology (ITS) especially Department of Ocean Engineering, Tohoku University, Japan, TU Delft, Netherlands, UNESCO-IHE Delft, Netherlands and HZ University of Applied Sciences, Netherlands. The papers contained in This Proceedings cover the topics including the field of Ocean, Offshore, Coastal engineering, Environmental and Disaster Management. This forum is more focused on creating and expanding professional network to foster the relationship between the University, industry, business and communities across the country.List of Acknowledgments, Organizing Committee, Tables, Logos, Photos are available in this pdf.
