Abstract

We are very pleased that the third International Symposium on Current Progress in Functional Materials 2018 (ISCPFM 2018) has been successfully organized. This event is an annual program of Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Universitas Indonesia, intended to provide the academics, scholars as well as scientists and students a solid forum platform to discuss their research activities and to exchange new ideas in functional material field.The major conference theme was Functional Materials for Technologies Development. The global changes all over the world are resulting in the actual requirement for bright ideas sharing and encouraging high awareness of this relevant research field. A tremendous growth of functional materials is potential in creating improvement in various fields of technology. The responses to the call-for-papers had been overwhelming. More than 100 papers have been presented. The numbers of delegates were also gratifying, showing the conference has attracted a high level attention. We highly appreciate their great contribution for this event. This proceedings’ volume facilitates the readers to engage with the selected manuscripts that were presented during the 3rd ISCPFM event. There are 76 papers published here covered a more wide range of topics and issues, including low-dimensional, nano and 2D materials, metals, metal oxides, polymers, ceramics and composite materials, biomaterials as well as computation and simulation of materials.Finally, it is appropriate to extend honour to our fellow colleagues in the advisory and scientific committee for their effort in securing a substantial input of paper and encouraging participation from all parties. We are also indebted to the sponsor Universitas Indonesia to support this 3rd Symposium and also to symposium committee members.
