Preface

Abstract

The 2021 2nd International Conference on New Energy and Sustainable Development (NESD2021) was successfully held in Chengdu, China on July 09-11, 2021. With the limitation of conventional energy sources and the increasingly prominent environmental problems, new energy sources with environmental protection and renewable qualities are gaining more and more attention from various countries. The research of new energy science and the development of industry are effective supplementary means of the entire energy supply system, and also the ultimate energy choice to meet the needs of sustainable development of human society.Under such condition, the organizer, AEIC as a link in the field of scientific research, gathered experts and scholars and engineering technicians in the fields of new energy science and engineering, sustainable development and environmental engineering around the world under the same roof. Jointly promote research progress in this field. The conference sincerely invited experts and scholars from domestic and foreign universities, scientific research institutions, business people and other relevant personnel to participate in the exchange.The conference model was divided into two sessions, including oral presentations and keynote speeches. In the first part, some scholars, whose submissions were selected as the excellent papers, were given 15 minutes to perform their oral presentations one by one. Then in the second part, keynote speakers were each allocated 30-45 minutes to hold their speeches. There were over 40 experts and scholars in the area of New Energy and Sustainable Development representing different famous universities and institutes around the globe to attend our conference.In this conference, we are greatly honored to have invited four professors to serve as our Conference Chairmen. During the conference, we were pleased to invite three industry elites as our keynote speakers. Prof. Steivan Defilla, from Tianjin University. His speech title is Post-Pandemic New Normal – How to Engineer the Role of New Energies? Prof. Di Yun, from Xi’an Jiaotong University, presented his insightful speeches on A novel nuclear fuel concept for high burn-up applications in fast neutron reactors. Dr. Congguang Zhang, from Northwest A&F University as our third keynote speaker, presented his insightful speeches on Design, Construction and Sustainability Evaluation of A Distributed Hybrid Biomass-Solar Energy System.We are glad to share with you that we received lots of submissions from the conference and we selected a bunch of high-quality papers and compiled them into the proceedings after rigorously reviewed them. These papers feature following topics but are not limited to: New Energy Science and Engineering, Storage Technology, Solar Energy Engineering, Environmental Chemistry and Biology, Water Supply and Drainage Engineering, Environmental Protection and other related topics. All the papers have been through rigorous review and process to meet the requirements of International publication standard.We would like to express our sincere appreciation to Honorary Conference Chair, Conference Chairs, Program Chairs, Technical Committee Members, and international reviewers. Their excellent professional advice enabled us to prepare this high-quality program. Our special thanks go to our keynote speakers as well as all the authors for sharing their latest research results. We hope all the participants have had a wonderful time at the conference and enjoyed Chengdu, China.
