Abstract

These Conference Proceedings contain the selected papers of the eleventh multidisciplinary Conference ENVIROMIS-2020 comprising elements of Early Career Scientists School held at Institute of Monitoring of Climatic and Ecological Systems, Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Tomsk, Russia, on September 7-11, 2020.This year brought new realities caused by the coronavirus disease pandemic, therefore we changed the traditional conference organization to a hybrid format combining both online and offline presentations. As well as all preceding events (http://www.scert.ru/en/conferences/), the conference was devoted to the state-of-the-art and usage of modern observation techniques, computational and information technologies for assessment, modelling and mitigation of Northern Eurasia environment variations under natural and anthropogenic pressures including those caused by the Global Climate Change.Multidisciplinary nature of the conference gathered specialists from various research fields. Owing to possibility of online presentation, more scientists were able to participate in the event at this tough time. The scientific program of the conference included 8 consecutive thematic sections. Moreover, the most urgent contemporary problem on growth of frequency and strength of extreme weather events was considered in detail at the workshop on Weather and Climatic Extremes: Data, Analysis and Impacts (WCEDAI), which was embedded into the conference program. In total 3 lectures, 19 invited papers, 61 oral and 58 posters were presented. These presentations covered fundamental and applied researches in the following areas: monitoring of climatic changes over Northern Eurasia; climatic and weather modelling; response of terrestrial ecosystems of Northern Eurasia to climate change; studying of air composition and pollution transport under impact of climate change; regional risks and socio-economic impacts; instrumental, information-measuring and information-computational infrastructure of a regional environmental study. The Conference was organized by Institute of Monitoring of Climatic and Ecological Systems SB RAS, Institute of Numerical Mathematics RAS, Moscow Center for Basic and Applied Mathematics and Ugra State University. WCEDAI workshop was organized in collaboration with Magdeburg-Stendal University of Applied Sciences and Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research. The conference was supported by Russian Foundation for Basic Research, grant No 20-05-22040.All the contributions in this volume have been peer reviewed according to rigorous international standards. However the authors take full responsibility for the content of their papers. We are grateful to all of the reviewers for maintaining the standards and quality of the manuscripts throughout the reviewing process.EditorsProfessor Evgeny GordovRAS Corresponding Member Vasily Lykosov
