This time, our annual and already traditional conference was dedicated to the 140th anniversary of the birth of Academician Vladimir N. In 1902, he graduated from Saint Petersburg Forest Institute (as our university was called at that time). In 1919, heorganized the Department of Dendrology and Plant Systematics, which he chaired until 1941. In 1935–1936, Professor Sukachev served as the Dean of the Forestry Faculty, and in 1936–1939, the Deputy Director and Director of Leningrad Forest Technical Academy (the name of the university was changed again). Among other things, he coined a term “biogeocenosis” and basically developed a new discipline – Biogeocenology, which strongly influenced the development of Forest Sciences in the 20th century.Another jubilee that was celebrated during the conference was the 210th anniversary of the first Department of Forest Inventory in Russia which still functions at our university. The scope of this department has changed significantly during this long period, and now it widely utilizes various GIS technologies.List of Program Commitee (SPbFTU), Organising Commitee (SPbFTU), List Of Editors (SPbFTU) are available in this pdf.
