Preface

Abstract

The 2020 2nd International Conference on Advances in Civil Engineering, Energy Resources and Environment Engineering (ACCESE 2020), organized by Nanning Normal University, was held on May 22 via online platform. The organizer is based in Guangxi Province, however, due to the worldwide travel restriction and the prevention and control of COVID-19, ACCESE 2020 adopted the format of virtual conference through network technology to provide a forum for experts and scholars to share real-time information and discuss the state-of-the-art research on civil engineering, energy resources and environment engineering. We learned that most participants were still have enthusiasm to join this conference, that’s why we chose to adopted a novel way to hold this virtual conference instead of postpone it.We’ve recruited over seventy scholars to join the committee of ACCESE 2020 with Prof. Chung-Li Hsu from Pingtung University of Science and Technology, Taiwan and Prof. Chong Wen Tong from University of Malaya as the Honorary Chairs, while Prof. Chou-Fu Liang from Nanning Normal University, China and Prof. Olanrewaju AbdulLateef from Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman, Malaysia serve as the Conference Chairs.The conference model was divided into two parts, including keynote speeches and online discussion. In the first part, keynote presentations were delivered in 30 minutes for each talk, all of which were conducted via Zoom. The second part was held through a communication group via WeChat for experts and scholars to discuss more about the talks and presentations. During the keynote presentations, we are honored to have invited four distinguished experts to perform their research. Our honorary chairs and on conference chair, Prof. Chung-Li Hsu, Prof. Chong Wen Tong and Prof. Chou-Fu Liang, all presented their excellent research on their expertise in Environment engineering, energy resources and civil engineering respectively. And we have one last but not least expert, A. Prof. Tengfei Fu from Fujian Agriculture and Forestry University, China, to hold his speech on Innovative cement-based materials. We are glad that their insightful talks triggered heated discussion on WeChat communication group in the second parts of the conference. The WeChat discussion lasted for 30 minutes. We are glad to have over 100 participants to join this special conference. In light of all participants are from different universities and institutes in different cities, who resides in their own city due to travel restriction, they participated in this conference from home via Zoom and WeChat.List of Honorary Chairs, Conference Chairs, Program Committee Chairmen, Committee and Conference secretary are available in this pdf.
