Abstract

This research work aims to study the influence of lead content on the thermally evaporated PbxGa1-xSe films where x = 0, 0.25, 0.50 and 0.75 at %. The X-ray diffraction investigation depicted that all the thermally evaporated PbxGa1-xSe thin films exposed an amorphous nature and the surface nature of the PbxGa1-xSe thin films has been fixed by the field-emission-scanning-electron microscope. The linear optical parameter of the thermally evaporated PbxGa1-xSe thin films like the linear refractive index, n and the linear absorption coefficient, α have enlarged via raising the Pb content. Furthermore, the optical energy gap, Eg of the thermally evaporated PbxGa1-xSe and the Urbach energy, EU have been calculated. Also, the dispersion parameters of the thermally evaporated PbxGa1-xSe films were evaluated and discussed. Furthermore, the nonlinear optical constants of these novel PbxGa1-xSe thin films, have been increased with increasing the Pb content.
