Preface

Abstract

The 10th EASN International Conference on “Innovation in Aviation & Space to the Satisfaction of the European Citizens”, took place between the 2nd and 4th of September 2020. Due to the COVID pandemic, it was the first time in the history of the EASN Conference series that the event was held virtually. EASN yearly gatherings enhance physical networking and connection among peers, however pivoting from an in-person event into a compelling virtual experience with the same structure as a typical EASN Conference has surely been a challenge for the EASN team. In this frame, the EASN Association was honoured and proud to organize the sole aviation & space related conference during the challenging times of COVID-19 and thus offer a small contribution to Europe’s efforts back to normality.The EASN Association would like to address a big thank you to the Keynote Speakers, Session Chairs, Authors and Presenters, the members of the International Scientific Committee and the Organizing Committee to make this virtual conference a real success.The virtual conference was held by using the LIFESIZE Virtual Conference platform and it was attended by more than 350 participants from 37 countries worldwide, resulting as the second largest event of the EASN Association. The event included 9 Keynote Speeches given by distinguished personalities of the European Aviation & Space Community and more than 320 technical presentations distributed in 47 sessions. Important also to underline that 48 HORIZON2020 projects have disseminated their latest research results as well as the future trends on the respective technological field.
