Preface

Abstract

The 5th International Conference on Science, Infrastructure Technology and Regional Development 2020 (ICoSITeR 2020) was be held in the form online via zoom during October 23-25, 2021 at the Institut Teknologi Sumatera, Lampung, Indonesia. This year ICoSITeR presented a theme: “Industry 4.0-based science and technology for national independence and advancement”. ICoSITeR 2020 aims to bring together companies, organizations, stakeholders, and universities that are active in the fields of technology and infrastructure. ICoSITeR 2020 was also expected to be a place for knowledge sharing, breakthroughs, and ideas related to developing different areas to increase the country’s competitiveness on a global scale.The participants of the fifth ICoSITeR were researchers and students at universities, and Research centers from several countries such as England, Netherlands, Japan and Indonesia. This year, 204 abstracts were submitted to ICoSITeR 2020 by all participants. We are greatly honored to have invited the plenary speakers: Prof. Hiroatsu Fukuda from Kitakyushu University, Prof. Dr. Eng. Khairurrijal from Institut Teknologi Bandung, Dr Eng. Khoirul Anwar from Telkom University, Dr. M. Abayazid from University of Twente, Dr. Muchamad Al Azhar from Plymouth Marine Laboratory, Prof. Pieter Van den Broeck from KU Leuven, Prof. Tatsuki Oda from Kanazawa University, Prof. Sukrasno from Institut Teknologi Bandung and Prof. Suchart Kothan from Chiang Mai University.This conference is of particular importance to us, primarily because it demonstrates our research and development efforts in line with our unique needs and secondly because it provides a means of exchanging information and experience. Hearing to the backgrounds and experiences of others can often lead to interesting discoveries that can enlighten and deeply influence us.We would like to acknowledge all of those who have supported ICOSITeR 2020. Each individual and institutional help were very important for the success of this conference.
