Abstract

Department of Mechanical Engineering, B N M Institute of Technology, Bengaluru, India hosted the International Conference on Thermo-fluids and Energy Systems on December 27th and 28th 2019.BNMIT is a premier institution established in the year 2001 under aegis of BNM Charities. The institute is located in Banashankari II stage, a quiet and very well planned locality in the city of Bengaluru. The institute stands true to its legacy of excellence in academics, research and innovation. The institute offers undergraduate programs in Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering and Information Science Engineering. It also offers post graduate degrees in VLSI & Embedded System, Computer Networking and Master of Business Administration. BNMIT is one among the top rated engineering colleges in the state Karnataka. BNMIT is accredited as Grade ‘A’ institution by NAAC and all undergraduate departments are accredited by NBA. The institute is ranked in the band of 151-200 by National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF, MHRD).The conference witnessed deliberations on various topics dealing with but not limited to Renewable Energy, Alternate Energy, Heat Transfer, IC Engines/Combustion, Computational Fluid Dynamics, Numerical analysis, Refrigeration & Air Conditioning, Cryogenic Heat Transfer, Porous Media etc.5 distinguished speakers from premier institutions in India and abroad delivered keynote addresses and invited talks on thrust areas. The conference provided a platform for mutual dissemination of ideas on thermo-fluids and energy systems between Indian and foreign researchers. The call for papers attracted over 90 submissions which were peer-reviewed by an expert committee and 62 submissions were accepted for oral presentation. The proceedings has 55 research papers arranged under 7 headers viz. Aerodynamics, Computational Analysis, Energy Systems, Heat Transfer, IC Engines, Physics and Refrigeration. The organizing committee thankfully acknowledges the support of JPCS: IOP in publishing the conference proceedings.Conference Chair(Dr. Mukesh Patil)
