Abstract

This chapter discusses the lectures delivered at the third Scheveningen conference on differential equations. The conference gathered a number of mathematicians actively engaged in research in the field of differential equations and, thus, obtained an up-to-date picture of the recent developments. The lectures presented in the conference covered a large variety of aspects of differential equations and also a range from abstract theory to application. Nonlinear differential equations of elliptic, parabolic and hyperbolic type, upper and lower bound of solutions, nonlinear integral equations, free boundary problem, singular perturbations, and control theory has also been discussed. The chapter presents the further applications in fluid mechanics, diffusion problems, wave mechanics, transport theory, and epidemiology.
